The winery

Nestling at the crossroads of the Pomerol and St Emilion appellations on the historic Templiers terroir. Château Moncets stands out from its neighbours, Petrus, Château Gazin and Château Cheval Blanc, thanks to its unique environment and a genuine focus on biodiversity. After crossing the Barbanne river, you will pass around the historic Château Moncets, built in 1770, and enter a 2-hectare park that has been preserved for over a hundred years. Château Moncets is proud to produce organic and premium wines that reflect this unique terroir. Visits take place at Château Moncets, the headquarters of Domaines de Moncets, where our offices, winery, production site and reception room are located. Boasting an exceptional terroir, Château Moncets has committed itself to a qualitative and environmental approach through technical, human and ecological changes. With a modern barrel cellar and a gravity-fed vat cellar completely renovated in 2015, we make elegant, well-balanced wines that can be enjoyed young and have great ageing potential. As part of our artisanal approach to biodiversity, we preserve and develop the biodiversity of our vineyards by setting up beehives, an educational farm with sheep, goats and chickens, and the installation of perches for titmice and bats in our century-old park. With its young, dynamic team, Château Moncets opens its doors to you and invites you to discover its history, its terroir and its wines through a variety of experiences. Picnic tables are available in the grounds for organising lunch, snacks or an aperitif before or after your visit.

    Fizemos a degustacao com a Daniela, que foi uma surpresa pois coincidentemente ela falava portugues, o que nos ajudou muito. A visita e degustacao foi muito instrutiva e gostosa, adoramos provar os vinhos, os queijos e de saber mais sobre a regiao e a propriedade e produtos.

    We were fortunate to be with Hannah on a late Sunday afternoon tasting. Her hospitality, deep knowledge of viticulture, the Chateaus ethos and the cellar practices were very appreciated by our group. She kept the session light and engaging yet very informative. The wines were lovely, and we enjoyed being able to both learn about the appellation and Chateau Moncets & Chambrun.

    A stunning chateau which we were allowed to walk through and follow a path around the gardens. The chateau has recently been renovated so is incredibly neat and modern inside. The 4 wines were well presented and they offered us a special deal on the rose, 6 bottles for the price of 5. And as Rose wine goes it was delicious! A good option for anyone who likes Rose more than red.

    Un très bon accueil et une superbe dégustation par une personne passionnée, très compétente, avec une très bonne culture du vin. Nous n'avons pu faire la visite du vignoble car c'était le we du 15 août, mieux vaut réserver bien à l'avance. Je recommande vivement ce château et ses vins

    My wife and I had the gourmet visit on June 2023. The building is being renovated but that did not disturb the visit at all. Clemence was a great host and went beyond her way to help us and make us feel welcome. The wines and cheese were great - we purchased 2 bottles. The winery is a blend of good use of technology allied with tradition and environmental responsibility. Would recommend.

    Loved our visit to this winery. Our guide was fabulous and very knowledgeable. They were in the midst of harvest which was most interesting. The chateau will be a beautiful place once finished to enjoy a wedding at. The wine … all 4 tasted were most enjoyable.

    We learned a lot here, had a private tour by a lovely young lady. She explained us about vinification, maturing, and much more. The wines are delicious, especially the rosé. Would recommend 10/10!
