Nestling between Limoux and Alet-les-Bains, the Château de Brasse estate lies at the foot of the Pyrenees, on the edge of the Aude. The winery covers 250 hectares, 63 of which are given over to vines, divided between fertile plains and sunny hillsides. A wide variety of red grape varieties (Merlot, Pinot noir, Cabernet franc, Syrah) and white grape varieties (Chardonnay, Mauzac, Sauvignon, Chenin) are grown on an unspoilt terroir with an authentic character.
Owned by the same family line since 1719, Château de Brasse, recognisable by its emblematic aqueduct at the entrance, is now run by Claude de Latude and his son Jacques. Representing the ninth and tenth generations, they are continuing the winery's history and breathing new life into it.Nestling between Limoux and Alet-les-Bains, the Château de Brasse estate lies at the foot of the Pyrenees, on the edge of the Aude. Christophe welcomes us at the entrance, and he gave us a fantastic tour of the winery by bringing us to almost 300 years ago. The vast vineyard and its history were welcome introduced in English. At the tasting, we had tasted 2 white wine and 2 red wine, and my kids had water too. We left with two cases of white wines. We totally enjoyed the experience and will definitely go back.Christophe welcomes us at the entrance, and he gave us a fantastic tour of the winery by bringing us to almost 300 years ago. Personal tour with Astride was wonderful, we learnt so much (all delivered in great English) - amazing that this vineyard has been passed down ten generations! The tasting was very relaxed and in a beautiful setting - so delicious that we came away with 12 bottles. Would highly recommend to anyone including young families (our dog was welcome too) thank you so much, we will be back!Personal tour with Astride was wonderful, we learnt so much (all delivered in great English) - amazing that this vineyard has been passed down ten generations!
