Llegamos a la hora indicada y no había nadie. Llamamos a un teléfono de contacto que había en un cartel en la puerta y sale el buzón de voz. Tras 3 intentos, nos llaman y nos comentan que no sabían de nuestra reserva, que estaban fuera y que venían en media hora. A los 5 minutos nos mandan un SMS, diciéndonos que no les consta que haya ninguna reserva. Cuando estamos haciendo una captura de la reserva para enviársela, aparece un empleado. Éste nos dice que está hablando con el dueño y nos pide algo que demuestre nuestra reserva. Lo hacemos y el empleado nos comunica que el dueño viene en 30 minutos. Esperamos. Teníamos la reserva a las 16:30 y aparecen a las 17:20. Hablamos con el dueño y este insiste en que no le consta la reserva y que puede que nosotros no la hayamos finalizado correctamente (habiendo nosotros recibido previamente 3 correos: uno de confirmación de reserva y dos de recordatorio). Sin haber aclarado si se ha realizado la reserva, dicen estar dispuestos a hacer la actividad, pero que necesitan 30 minutos más para prepararse. Ante lo cual, tras ver su desconfianza y tener que esperar otra media hora más, decidimos no hacer la actividad. ¡Una lástima el no haber visitado la bodega ya que habíamos visto muy buenas referencias de ella!Llegamos a la hora indicada y no había nadie. Een betrokken en creatieve ondernemer met de liefde voor het wijnvak. Een trotse eigenaar die met passie een kijkje in zijn leven en chateau geeft. Een warm welkom met een paar lieve honden aan zijn zij. Mooi chateau met prachtige tuinen en zelfs met een kleine kerk. Een kijkje in de productie en kelders geeft eens te meer aan dat de eigenaar alles doordacht doet en met zijn hart onderneemt. Na een smaakvolle proeverij gaan wij met een doos assortiment kwaliteitswijnen tevreden naar huis. Een betrokken en creatieve ondernemer met de liefde voor het wijnvak. You can see the effort of a family trying to thrive on such a competitive world but without leaving their values of producing organic wines; their project anove all. My family and I arrived at 1:00 PM, the reserved hour of our wine tour and tasting, and were greeted with the most rude reception I have ever received. The lady at the end of the drive was on the phone and didn’t greet us at all, then proceeded to tell us we were early for our 2:00 tour and that she didn’t know why these strangers were in her driveway. We can’t comment on the wine, as none was provided. We lost 120 euro on the Uber there and back - all in all, cannot in good faith say a good word about it. Nous avons récemment participé à une visite de cave qui s’annonçait prometteuse, mais qui s’est révélée être une expérience contrastée. La visite a débuté de manière très agréable avec le propriétaire des lieux, qui nous a accueillis chaleureusement. Il était à la fois passionné et très informatif, partageant avec nous son amour pour le vin et son métier. Ses explications sur la production des vins étaient captivantes, et il était évident qu'il consacre tout son cœur à son travail. Les vins eux-mêmes étaient absolument délicieux, et la visite de sa galerie de peintures, dont certaines œuvres ornent les étiquettes des bouteilles, était un ajout charmant et artistique à l’expérience. Cependant, l’ambiance a brusquement changé lors de la dégustation, dirigée par l’épouse du propriétaire. Dès son arrivée, elle nous a accueilli de manière extrêmement froide, en commençant par dire : "J'ai dû revenir de Carcassonne pour vous et je ne suis pas contente, c'est l'anniversaire de mon mari et de mon fils et nous aurions dû annuler cela." Elle a poursuivi en affirmant qu'elle "n'aime pas les touristes", ajoutant : "Vous ne valez pas la peine, nous ne gagnons pas d'argent avec vous. Je m'intéresse plus à nos distributeurs au Japon qui achètent 5,000 bouteilles." Cette attitude, non seulement irrespectueuse mais aussi insultante, a immédiatement créé une atmosphère tendue. Pour plusieurs membres de notre groupe, c’était leur première visite d’un domaine viticole en France, et ce qui aurait dû être un moment agréable entre amis s’est transformé en une expérience gênante où nous ne nous sommes pas sentis les bienvenus. Nous comprenons que les circonstances personnelles puissent parfois influencer l'humeur, mais en tant que clients ayant réservé une visite, nous nous attendions à une expérience plus accueillante et professionnelle. Malheureusement, ce comportement a gâché ce qui aurait pu être une très belle découverte de vins et d’un domaine remarquable. Benoir was our happy smiling guide who made our visit very informative. The wines we tasted, 5, were all excellent and made organically. Clearly, the vineyard cares about all aspects of production and its effect on the environment. The chatter at the tasting table was lively and relaxed. We really enjoyed our visit Château de Gaure and would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of taking a vineyard/wine tasting tour. The tour was in both English and French (English for us) and it was really interesting - everything from seeing where the owner painted the labels for the bottles of wine, through to the actual wine making process, a walk to the closest vineyard and then the all important wine tasting in the guest house. We could only purchase one bottle as we were struggling with weight for our flight back, but we can heartily recommend the wine!We really enjoyed our visit Château de Gaure and would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of taking a vineyard/wine tasting tour. The tour was in both English and French (English for us) and it was really interesting - everything from seeing where the owner painted the labels for the bottles of wine, through to the actual wine making process, a walk to the closest vineyard and then the all important wine tasting in the guest house. Warmly welcomed by Benoit’s wife as he was getting the car fixed, we tasted four wonderful wines and were also treated to a tour of their lovely chamber de hôte. On Benoit’s return we got a tour of the vineyards and the winemaking process. A fabulous trip to a family owned vineyard where the personal touch made the experience authentic and special. Nous avons été accueillis chaleureusement par un couple d’hôtes attentionnés , une dégustation des vins avec une explication détaillée et instructive, puis visite de la cave avec la même gentillesse, nous avons appris les petits secrets de la fabrication du vin bio du Château de Gaure . Sans omettre la visite des chambres d’hôtes magnifiques, une douce chaleur s’´en dégage . Les amis de Gaure … une belle adresse !
