The winery

Driven by a passion for wine, a desire to return to their roots and a taste for a challenge, Olivia and Didier Le Calvez have been making their own wine since 2010 in one of the most illustrious regions in the Bordeaux constellation, the Saint-Emilion area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Didier Le Calvez's passion for wine and its culture goes back to his earliest childhood, when he spent his holidays with his grandmother in Cadaujac. Since then, he has always taken an interest in market developments: from the wine farms of his childhood in Pessac Léognan, to the birth of the huge Californian vineyards of the 1970s, which were a reflection of the American dream... Olivia Le Calvez, who is passionate about wine and authenticity, also has childhood memories of winegrowing in the Haut Médoc. The intimate ties that bind them both to these grape-growing lands have undoubtedly nurtured their entrepreneurial dream. After several years of research starting in 2007, Olivia and Didier's dream took shape in the form of an authentic Gironde stone house nestling in the gently curving green landscape of the right bank. This former wine estate with its magnificent cellars, which for over a century was in the hands of the Estager family, is surrounded by a beautiful vineyard perched high (100 metres) on the plateau of Puisseguin, one of the four 'satellite' villages of Saint-Emilion. Only a humble stream, the Barbanne, a sub-tributary of the Dordogne, separates them from the illustrious fortified town. And so Château Clarisse was born, named after their daughter (who was a year old when the first bottle was produced in 2010), to write a lovely family story..

    We booked a tour and arrived 10min in advanced, but nobody was there. The phone number also does not exist. After waiting 15min without anyone showing up, we left.

    Durant notre séjour autour de Bordeaux, nous avons eu l'opportunité de venir visiter votre domaine. Mon conjoint nous a fait la surprise de choisir vos vignes car elles portent le même nom que moi. Nous avons bien pu profiter de vos explications et de vos informations. La visite a été très intéressante et enrichissante. Nous vous remercions d'avoir pris votre temps pour répondre à nos questions et d'avoir adapté la visite à une personne PMR. La dégustation a été savoureuse et nous sommes ravis d'avoir pu rapporter un peu de votre cuvée en Haute-Savoie et en Suisse. Nous vous remercions Belle journée Clarisse !

    We had a wonderful experience today at Chateau Clarisse. The information shared was very informative and we were able to ask many questions. We ended the experience tasting three excellent wines. While we enjoyed the offer of wines, it didn’t match what the description of the reservation stated. It mentioned a barrel tasting and a tasting of three red wines. It may have been a simple oversight, but we weren’t provided the barrel tasting.

    We have been lucky and got a visit only for us two! Therefore we had plenty of opportunities to ask questions to our guide! We learned a lot! The 3 wines presented were of excellent quality and taste! A visit of the chateau is highly recommended!

    We spent rainy April afternoon in Chateau Clarisse with our host Victoria. Victoria gave us great introduction to all stages of wine process starting with vineyard visit. Great stories and delicious wine. Small winery but really good place to visit in Boudreaux region. Victoria speaks several languages (French, Spanish, English and even Russian)..
