We had a great time there tasting three red wines while holding an interesting conversation with our host. The location is really quiet, far apart from the village, but if you don’t have a car, even the 50-min walk to the château is worth the time and effort. The tasting room has great views of the vineyards through giant glass windows. I visited Chateau Chauvin with my 3 children aged 5, 10 and 12. The experience was a huge success for us all. I wanted the children to have an opportunity to learn more about French culture and the wine making process, this fit the bill. The tour was informative, whilst being fun. The children were able to run around the vineyard; independently explore inside the winery itself; sample the unique taste of each grape variety (plucked straight from the vine); and even had a formal grape juice tasting. A fabulous way to make wine accessible to all ages. I couldn’t recommend the experience more. In addition to learning about the wine making process, I was also interested to learn about the journey the brand has been on and how it is adapting to meet the needs of today’s consumers. It was enjoyed by all who attended. Beautiful setting with a fascinating and engaging tour of the facilities. All questions answered expertly and wines were outstanding, what we'd expect of quality claret. I've set one of my purchases aside for my wife's birthday in October and we are looking forward to enjoying it on our terrace with friends. It was an amazing visit with Mathilde. The Chateau created a very playful format to present the winery process to the kids. My children really enjoyed the time there and the juices they had in the end. I must admit that even the adults enjoyed this new way to understand the winery process without the technical wording of the winemaking process.It was an amazing visit with Mathilde. Very nice and pleasant visit. The host explained the entire winemaking process very well with a game for the kids. The tour ended with an excellent wine tasting for the adults and a red + rose grape juice tasting for the kids. Will definitely recommend to others!Very nice and pleasant visit. Even though we arrived a half-hour early, Julie welcomed us immediately and won us over with her charm and knowledge. She made the tour interesting with tidbits and anecdotes and was patiently answered the numerous questions from our group of five with a wide range of wine knowledge. The wines were wonderful. I was most impressed with the 2022, which shows the promise of greatness after appropriate cellaring time. The kids tasting activity is more suited to younger kids (4-8 maybe) but even the slightly older children enjoyed it. Super hostess, very friendly and knowledgeable and thoroughly enjoyed the wines. La visite “les petits de chauvins” était tout à fait appropriée pour nos 2 enfants de 4 et 6 ans qui se sont pris au jeu de piste. Nous avons apprécié le parcours dans les vignes et les 3 différents cépages. La Dégustation jus + vins à la fin du parcours fut très appréciée de tous. Excellent accueil. Highly recommend this tour! Mathilde was super knowledgeable about the wine making process (and very humble) and she did a wonderful job making sure our daughter had a fun time. We had been to bigger wineries in Bordeaux and Mathilde impressed us the most when compared to the other guides. We left with some great wines and will definitely be back!Highly recommend this tour!
