Ce fut une belle visite , Lisa avait un bon accueil et a pris le temps de bien m’expliquer tout le processus de la culture des vignes , leurs traitement , la cueillette des raisins et le processus d’élaboration pour produire un bon vin . C’était vraiment agréable et de loin la meilleure visite que j’ai fait dans un château . Grand merciCe fut une belle visite , Lisa avait un bon accueil et a pris le temps de bien m’expliquer tout le processus de la culture des vignes , leurs traitement , la cueillette des raisins et le processus d’élaboration pour produire un bon vin . Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la qualité de la visite ainsi que la disponibilité et la gentillesse de notre guide, qui a pris le temps de répondre à toutes nos questions. Mi experiencia en el Chateau fue buena. La persona que nos atendió fue muy amable y su manera de contar las cosas fue amena y didáctica, sobre todo lo relativo a la biodinámica. Hablaba bastante bien español y nos ayudó a entender muy bien el proceso. Para la cata sugeriría unas sillas para poder con tranquilidad degustar los vinos. Resulta distante estar de pie frente a ella con la degustación. Podrían ser taburetes altos en la barra. Respecto a los vinos, me resultaron muy diferentes a los que he tomado hasta ahora y no sabría decirle si me gustaron. He probado diferentes vinos en España y de viaje fuera de España ( algunos también biodinámicos) y estos me resultaron diferentes. En general la experiencia fue buena y la bodega me gustó porque está muy cuidada. Un saludoMi experiencia en el Chateau fue buena. Apologies for being just a little late! Gigi the guide was waiting for us when we arrived and guided us swiftly out of the carpark, round past some vines, through the busy yard and into the start of her talk. We soon caught up on the lost time. Mazeyres' winery is at the heart of what used to be a much smaller business, so after the recent expansion of the Chateau's territory (through an extraordinary purchase of the land at a disused 'Hippodrome') the premises are busy like never before with the abundant harvest being brought in. In fact, positively bursting at the seams with all the delicious wine-making! It was important for us to keep out of the way, especially as the grapes were being brought in and the must tranferred to the vats, but nevertheless we were able to see the process close up...and it was fascinating. Amazing the various types of vat/barrique in use, which all have their own subtle effect on the wine during the 'elevation' stage. The tasting room at the end of the tour is lovely and relaxed and this is where Gigi was able to explain just how seriously the whole biodynamic system is being implemented in the various land parcels where Mazayre's vines grow. We bought a bottle of "Chateau Mazeyres 2016", which was silky smooth - though in fact all of the pomerols from here are juicy and smooth. Thankyou very much indeed. Our group voted this particular wine the Best Red Wine of the entire holiday, which is quite some accolade! :-) Apologies for being just a little late! Avons passé un très agréable moment au Chateau Mazeyres. Bien que nous nous soyons trompés de jour, nous avons été accueillis sympathiquement et avons eu droit a une visite a 2. Four of us visited Ch Mazeyres on a rainy November afternoon. Lisa gave us an excellent tour, showcasing the biodynamic activities of this important Pomerol producer and the way they make their wines. Her English is very good and she has a great sense of humour. The tasting was also interesting and well-informed. We had a great afternoon and would warmly recommend it to others.Four of us visited Ch Mazeyres on a rainy November afternoon. This is a must visit for the Pomerol appellation! Especially if you are driving through the right bank or visiting Saint Emilion, be sure to stop by Chateau Mazeyres. The wines are amazing and the staff is so hospitable! They were knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of my questions. It was a wonderful experience and I cannot recommend it enough!!
