  • Great experience meeting the owner/winemaker and learning about Chateau Grangey

    My wife and I had a wonderful visit to Chateau Grangey with the owner/winemaker Franck Mio. Franck drove us in a fancy golf cart around the property where we saw the vines and learned about their organic growing/harvesting process. We then saw the winemaking machinery and learned more about the process. Finally, we got to taste some exceptional Chateau Grangey wines. Thank you very much to Franck Mio for a great experience!

    Découverte du château sous un beau soleil. Visite passionnante et passionnée, à l'image de l'équipe du château. On ressent à travers les explications très complètes la qualité du travail. Ce qui s'est ensuite confirmé lors de la dégustation des vins.

    We had a magnificent tasting at Ch. Grangey to start off our day in the St. Emilion area. The host was very knowledgeable and friendly and explained the history of the chateau and the wine-making process in an engaging manner. The wine was truly excellent and we bought some bottles which we had shipped home. We highly recommend visiting and would love to come back anytime!

    This was best tour of all our Bourdeaux tours. Yannick took extra time with us, made us feel welcome and did not just spout a bunch of random facts. Very interesting to talk with. The wine was outstanding and my favorite in Bordeaux. Very intimate and entertaining. Highly recommend.

    Visite en famille au Chateau Grangey : très sympa en petit comité, nous étions 6. Nous avons été accompagnés par Mathieu pour la visite et la dégustation de 4 vins. Une personne du groupe était anglophone et Mathieu s'est vite adapté sur les interactions. Nous avons passé un très bon moment et apprécié la dégustation !

    Nous avons été très bien accueillis au château ! La visite était très intéressante, que l’on soit amateur ou déjà connaisseur. La dégustation qui a suivi a égayé nos papilles et développé notre sens gustatif. Merci pour ce moment convivial qui restera un très bon souvenir !

    At the last minute we booked a tour of this family owned and run Vineyard. Having been to so many Business run Vineyards with was a refreshing change to hear about the wines from the people whose heart and sole are in the wine. We were met by Yannick who gave us the overview of the grapes and the wine. We saw their operation and finally tasted the wines. Our visit was brief but so memorable! The wine was outstanding. We sent two cases home. When we had trouble getting an Uber the owner gave us a lift into St Emillion where he was heading to meet a friend, this was so above and beyond. He not only gave us a lift but took the scenic route and really just made our visit that much more genuine. Go visit and enjoy this wine!

    Wonderful visit to Chateau Grangey. Yannick was a fantastic and charming host explaining each vintage and the philosophy behind how their wine is produced. A thoroughly enjoyable, entertaining and educational afternoon.

    This winery (and the wines!) are amazing. We had a tour just after harvest. The first part was in the production half of the building. It was particularly cool to see the different fermentation containers- barrels and amphora (clay and steel). Then, we had an excellent tasting that highlighted the entire portfolio, including a 3 wine vertical of the grand cru to show a cool year vintage, warm year vintage, and 10+ year vintage. Franck is an exceptional wine maker and host. I strongly recommend this tour!

    Our visit started with Jannik walking down the driveway to greet us which we found extremely welcoming. After chatting our tour began which was the start of an educational history of the vineyard, owners and their process. The passion he and Grangey have for wine is evident. While covering everything in completion we also had great discussions of deeper history of the region and France. Next on to the wines, I’ll leave the full process to be explained when you visit Grangey and Jannik but the quality is immediately evident. PRIORITIZE THIS VINEYARD!! Out of all our bookings (across France >10) this was our favorite.

    My group of 10 thoroughly enjoyed our visit hosted by Yannick. Yannick was generous with his time sharing his wealth of information on the land, wine making process and of course the wines. Yannick has a great sense of humor and he engaged with everyone in our large group. I’m here for a few more weeks and will return with other family and friends. Thanks Yannick!

    Great experience with the owner, he walked me through the history and technique from growth of the grapes to intricate detail of curating the wine. He explored with me the significance of storage techniques and finished with tasting fine wines from the vineyard. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a personalized experience.

    Very good wines, we bought all 3 of them, they were simply delicious. Yannick was very friendly and welcoming, he explained everything so well. We had a lot of fun and would definitely come back!

    This was a really enjoyable and informative tasting. The Château is much smaller than others we had been to. The owner was working on the vineyard and came in to say hello during the tasting which was refreshing. The wine was delicious especially the final 2022 from the oldest vines and our host was engaging throughout. I would definitely recommend this.

    The host has been exceptional in explaining the wine and the geology. Very nice to taste some exceptionally high quality fully organic red wine. I dont think Chateau Grangey retails internationally (do correct me if I am wrong!), and it is definitely a great experience if you would like to discover some new wine that you have not tried before if you are not a local.
