The winery

Grand Cru Classé in 1855, Château Branaire-Ducru stretches across one of the finest vineyards in the Médoc, in the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation in the Bordeaux region. Passed down from father to son, the estate is now run by François-Xavier Maroteaux, who is passionately carrying on the momentum set in motion by his father in the 1990s. When you visit the château, the winery reveals a perfect balance between heritage and modernity. The suspended vat room, designed to work by gravity, illustrates a precise and respectful approach to the grapes, while the cellars patiently accompany the maturing of the wines. Each stage of the visit provides a better understanding of the identity of Branaire-Ducru: elegance, freshness and fruitiness, the emblematic signatures of this Bordeaux vineyard. The experience concludes with a tasting of the two cuvées, Château Branaire-Ducru and Duluc de Branaire-Ducru, for a complete immersion in the world of this Médoc Grand Cru Classé, in Saint-Julien, in the Bordeaux vineyards.

    La propriété, dans son ensemble, impose par sa beauté et sa surface Venu dans le cadre d'un cadeau pour une visite et une dégustation de ce château, j'ai pu apprécier le soin apporté à l'entretien du domaine et l'originalité de ses cuves inox obconiques et suspendues (peu répandues dans la région) L'accueil est digne du domaine et la visite à la hauteur de ce beau vignoble Concernant la dégustation, le second vin Duluc apprécié en 2018 et 2016 est très agréable et à un tarif fort raisonnable Le premier cru, Branaire-Ducru, millésime dégusté en 2018 est de très grande qualité Je recommande vivement sa visite

    We really enjoyed our visit at Chateau Branaire-Ducru the visit was very interesting and different from what we had seen elsewhere and our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. On the down side I would just mention that we would have appreciated to have a fresh glass for each wine as we had experienced at other chateau.
